BACKGROUND:
The Government of India has launched several schemes for the benefit of India’s minority communities.

ZFI’s ROLE:
Since October 2009, Zakat Foundation of India has been operating a new division known as ‘Community Monitoring.’

This division monitors the Government’s implementation of  the announced minority benefit schemes.

The ‘Community Monitoring’ Office asks questions to the concerned departments of the Government, making use of Right To Information Act (link).

In June 2009, ZFI met with the Minister of Minority Affairs regarding Government run schemes. Example of some of the questions posed by ZFI to the Minister during this meeting can be seen by clicking here > PDF

A recent CNN-IBN article on one of our projects can be seen by clicking here >
