CIVIL SERVICES SELECTION IN TAMIL NADU

August 16, 2009 (New Delhi): On 11 & 13 Aug 2009, Zakat Foundation of India's Civil Services Orientation Program in Tamil Nadu's minority Muslim-community dominated cities of Trichirapalli and Vellore were attended by more than 500 academically bright minority Muslim -community graduates and Members of Legislative Assembly, principals, professors, doctors, Imams and Christian Bishops.

After the civil services orientation lectures were delivered by Dr Syed Zafar Mahmood, President, ZFI the candidates were subjected to test and interview.

Six candidates were selected from Tamil Nadu. They will join coaching in Delhi from 17 August.

The exercise created tremendous enthusiasm among the minority-Muslim community of Tamil Nadu towards joining higher Government positions.

Dr TS Mohammad Sa'ee, a renowned Opthalmologist of Vellore is now helping open local chapter of ZFI's Sir Syed Coaching & Guidance Centre.

At the 60 years old sprawling Jamal Mohammad Post Graduate College, Trichirapalli Dr Zafar Mahmood separately addressed the MBA students and faculty.

He asked them to take a macro view of the world economy and try to change the faulty precepts of modern trends in commercialism by emphasising quality improvement and promoting business integrity.

He reminded the audience of Allama Iqbal's couplet: Sarma ki hawaaon mein hai uryaan badan uska, Deta hai hunar jiska ameeron ko doshala. He recommended the adoption of some Fundamental Prohibitions in order to be afraid of the heavenly abode's hidden eye.
