INDONESIA'S ZAKAT FOUNDATION VISITS ZFI February 22, 2010 (New Delhi, India): Indonesia’s Zakat Foundation, led by its President Mr. Ismail Saeed, visited ZFI today in New Delhi. Mr. Saeed and his team were able to tour Adams Charitable hospital, Fatima Care orphanage as well as the Happy Home orphanage (link) run by Zakat Foundation of India.
The discussions included exchange of ideas and experiences and also areas of future collaboration. The Indonesians expressed their appreciation for the ZFI model of community monitoring, and were impressed by ZFI’s organized collection and utilization of Zakat, Sadaqat, Imdaad towards institution building for uplifting India's minority community. The Indian hosts were led by the ZFI president, Dr. Syed Zafar Mahmood (link), and included vice-presidents Mr. SM Shakil, and Mr Asrar Ahmad, as well as secretary Dr Najmussalam among other. More exchanges and conferences are expected in near future.
